for those of you that have obtained 'operator', is it worth
it? and are there other add-ons that are also worth paying
money for?

I didn't pay for them, but i use them alot, if you open up
live as the trial version.

They're pretty cool, but limited. Analog, Sampler, and
operator are my favorites to just make crazy music with, but
i hear stuff like reaktor is better, max/msp, stuff with a
lot of control.

yeah and you can rewire it to ableton too i guess... which
might defeat the point of buying operator if i already have
reason, i just have to determine if they are more or less
the same thing

I think operator is meant to be used as an FM synth. but you
can get alot out of it. It's an awesome instrument.

i am so overwhelmed by all the different software options
these days... it's crazy!

Reason is too comfortable but it seems kind of dated in a
lot of ways.

Reason is essentially shit if used on it's own... it must be
rewired to something else to make it sound anywhere near
decent.

Not used operator tho... why am I in this thread?

I do use abelton ... just to fuck with audio tho.

do you mean sucks on its own in terms of creative
possibilities or just the overall production? I've noticed
the quality in reason versus other programs seems to sound
somewhat... amateur.

Also i don't know if i've fucked something up or not, but
everytime i render something from reason at a specific tempo
and then import it into another program with the same tempo,
it is off by the smallest milisecond, but overtime it is
apparent that it does not sync up with the same tempo...
ridiculous

you can be as creative as a mother fucker with reason...
just sounds a bit better if you rewire it.
