So, finally I managed to get my hands on a digital copy of this album. What can I say? It's bliss-tastic! Compared to Disco Romance it sounds a bit more contemporary and a little less retro and way more accomplished as an album, even if it includes both the recent singles and recycles a previous b-side. Most of the songs on here is even stronger than the singles and a few of them come across as instant classics, Looking at the Stars and Moonlight Dance respectively.
Sally has carefully build her image as a shy and withdrawn artist that would rather stay anonymous than become a star. She should really be on guard after this release because there's really nothing here that should fail to appeal to a massive audience.
My Guilty Pleasure is in many ways a perfect record, of warm, streamlined and polished italo space-disco. A guilty pleasure, indeed.
4.5/5
