I'm usually alone when I say that Pee-wee's Big Adventure is one of his best movies, people always consider Edward Scissorhands his best, Ed Wood is another movie overlooked. Anyway Alice's looking a bit generic, movies these days are all orange and dark blue/turquoise. |

too much cgi, agreed, and i didn't find Depp to be immediately convincing as the mad hatter. it's a shame Burton seems unable to make films without casting depp and/or helena bonham carter every single time. it could still be very good though. too bad we have to wait another year :/ |

Wished he would cast winona ryder too, depp is great but overused in his movies and not always to great success in my opinion. |

what's wrong with CGI if it's done well? what the fuck? this CGI looks brilliant here, much more so than CGI trying to emulate somewhat "realistic" milieus in other movies. i really hated the CGI in the star wars movies, but in this it looks totally appropriate for the setting and mood. i still think LOTR did well by using so many props and models instead of just CGI, but this movie actually seems to utilize it incredibly well. and honestly, it's just a fucking fairy tale that's been picked up by nerds cause it's a bit more 'dark'. looks fun. 11 stars out of 5. also, coax: what the fuck is a fake color? |
