Also, I don't consider KW an 80's synthpop band. They're in a category for themselves :)

80's Synth Pop is gold. I love New Order to pieces, Joy Division too. But the latter isn't considered synth pop. Depeche Mode was great too.

i agree with Paco. kraftwerk definitely deserves their own category. they were around even before Depeche Mode, so you might say they pioneered Electronic music.Besides there would be no "techno" music because Kraftwerk were the first to coin that term in relation to music. that being said Depeche Mode have definitely influenced electronic music too and they are great in their own right. But Kraftwerk was one of the first to break through, hell they even had to make their own equipment just like Aphex, I doubt Martin and Dave have ever whipped out the toolbox and hacked a new piece of equipment together.

KW forever....wonder if we'll ever hear anything else from them...
Last was that EXPO2000 theme from 2000 (duh)...but that was a commission from the German govt or someone similar (think they got tonns of money for it and it caused a bit of press trouble when the figure was leaked to the German public...)...
I'd much rather they stood down rather than released stuff that would ruin their track record...they must be in a pretty tricky spot artistically...
They should have had kids and created a new Kraftwerk that way...:)...
