I'm trying to importing FLV files into after-effects cs4 but it just keeps freezing - what am i doing wrong?
also I installed xvid and divx codecs but ae doesn't seem to use them.\\

flv to avi or quicktime converter is needed you can get em free about the net. but takes a while to find the best. ( unless you are a what waffle child ?)
after effects is a bit touchy with divx ....you can import divx but try and export to divx and you get that rather washy morphing effect on the screen.
i use after effects 5.5 to export divx
and quicktime mov (animation codec) for edditing.

i cant remember which flv i use , im away from my editing pc so cant check .... :?(

after effects doesn't recognize flv for editing.

go here. there you are able to convert almost any file to almost any file without installing a programme on your pc. I use it all the time.
