early next year, how hard are jobs to come by at the moment? probably end up in the manchester area because there's a fair chunk of family around... how high are rents these days? (considering you're lucky to get somewhere that would be around 100 pounds a week here in australia) have the knife crimes dropped? etc etc... so many questions...
me and the singer from my band wanna make a proper go of it in the UK... anyone here wanna join us? we'd be looking for a drummer & a keyboardist :)

can't really be any worse than here in aus.... shit is going downhill pretty bad here... i'm working in retail at the moment and every day it's getting slower and slower... i quit doing sound engineering, the jobs were still there but the pay was getting cut severely...
but mainly it's for the band, i've got friends in at least 5 bands in the UK that are doing 10 times better there than they were here in australia. the music scene here is atrocious!

I just moved to Manchester and jobs are scarce. I just got a part-time cinema job after handing in about 100 CV's for full-time jobs. And I have a degree! (be it a music tech one...maybe similar to what you have being a sound engineer).
Don't want to put a downer on it though!
p.s. any tips on how to get sound engineer jobs? they are so hard to find.

Well unemployment's hit a 15 year high and is set to get worse so good luck getting a job that doesn't pay minimum wage.
