It was pretty good at the time but has aged terribly and the music has always been atrocious.

Columns 3: Revenge of Columns had the best music out of any Megadrive game. Especially the versus music. That was incredible.

Naw MK2 music really gets my attention. I love the series, MK2 is the best. I can't stress how cool of a time this was in my life when this came out. I was such an arcade bum ... I met so many cool people ... my town barely had internet so I had to wait for the next gaming magazine to print a new move list.
They released mk2 in beta stages, you'd go to the arcade and find out they have this fucked up version where sub zero could super freeze or baraka could b,b,lp shred his babalilty. Big crowds, lot's of rumors about stuff that didn't exist in the game... aww man what a good time in my life I really cherish what I can remember from those days they mean a lot to me.
MK2 on snes was my fav port, the snes synth sounds totally different from the arcade music but is still welcomed. Like I was explaining to a younger guy today at my work (talking about certain videogames), you just had to been there.

PS I'll always blame Tekken 1 for killing the arcade. The minute they brought it in I knew it was all over. Was the turning point for a new era of videogame...
Probably my best memories were mortal kombat days ...

Its a good game if you re-researching... or maybe I just mean re searching... for the long button sequences for fatalities each time you play and having the ai fall for repeated leg sweeps and the gameplay being clunky compared to street fighter. I guess 2 player could be ok, though I never played 2 player, yo.

i was fully going to link the subway tune! i was too young for the arcades and there wasn't any of that around. i just rented it from my local video rental shop and obsessively played out these tunes.
when you uppercut in mk2 theres nothing like that feeling. you get points for the appreciation

1) the snes has better sounding music at least 90% of the times
2) streets of rage 2 has the best music of all megadrive games
3) of all MK games of that generation, mk3 on snes owns everything
streets of rage 2
