since mr. steinvordhosbn logged off, i suppose this is a
general thread then.

personally i love both bands and can't really decide in my
current state of intoxication ...

but, out of curiosity what's your favorite cure album?

mine's disintegration.. mmmh.. damn fine album that.

I never liked The Cure because, and I'm not proud of this,
someone at school (who I am still friends with) liked them a
lot and that sort of put me off. Actually I think even
without that I still didn't like them. I kind of liked Goth
but not Comedy Goth like Alien Sex Fiend, but bands like
Sisters of Mercy or Fields of the Nephilim, who were more..
I don't know, Rock than... farty types in make up. I
couldn't get behind The Cure in the way I could with The
Smiths, who I always liked and were obviously musically and
lyrically superior. I was just now playing "Louder than
Bombs" (true fact).

The right answer though, as glasse suggest, is The The, who
are The True Sound of England in the '80s.

Thank you for your time.

I like a lot of Latin Rock, produced when there was a ban in
Argentina on British music during the Falklands
"conflict",there's some New Wave done.... very nicely. And
as you say, Thatcher had an effect of generating the
conditions for a great deal of creativity, albiet
indirectly.

I agree on Hatful of Hollow (I still have it on (original)
cassette))
