I wrote this as a parody of typical teen poetry. enjoy:

Poetry by Numbers

open with an image
hopefully striking
but likely cliché, banal, boring
which segues to a metaphor
extended, detailed
obvious

exposition
description
pontification follow

broken syntax
odd line-
breaks
random indentations
create an illusion of depth

until at last,
wit (or a reasonable facsimile thereof)
and cheesy closing lines

i only write when i'm ecstatic in bed and can't sleep.
sadness leaves me with writers block, though i think i
remember writing in depression during jr high.

"here, arriving for..., you recognize your last voyage
me, with your tired eyes, tired bodies and tired Seele? I
however am not carried outside anything, others lost, does
not tire and as you gives it here of Goettlichkeiten, and
all does not have to me... on the point one your is liked
not y have me is not either on the point as you and is to us
on the point precisely to be forgotten, disappears us right
and involves on this one the Black Sea, under last cold

always our last voyage and my last Heartbreak. me hoped,

REFLEX > teenage poetry can be very risible, i agree with
you... but i think it's written more for cathartic purpose
than for artistic...

i want to be a poetry too!

here's one:

butchering up her face in
front of the mirror:
'honey the kids are on
strike they're marching
through the backyard and
spitting on the swingset'
picking at his scabs and
spinning the lazy susan:
'dear the chores will get
done with the children
or without them we should
try our best to ignore the
cries and whi(s/m)pering'
screaming and choking at their
skies and plucking weeds:
'guys we should've made
bigger signs and spilled more
of our blood on the grass'

yeah.. poetry's for faggots. if you have the time to write a
poem, you should spend it polishing your guns or selling
crack to schoolchildren instead.
