So not to long ago I was watching a show talking about Isaac Newton and Gottfried Leibniz. Apparently Gottfried Leibniz invented Calculus first, Newton and him were rivaling about it. The British Royal Society said they would review both. Newton (who was the only one on the review board) picked his own theory of calculus to be the standard and so history says he is responsible.
Today I also found out that he might of stole the idea of square root inverse (for gravity in space or something) from some other guy named Robert Hooke.I'm paraphrasing all this of course.
I'd like to know more about it, I was wondering if anyone here knows of any books or documentaries on the subject, or can share an hear say on the matter. The antiquity of history is controlled by those in power so they say, and considering that Newton was in the British Royal Society, I wonder how much influence that had on his standings today.
