this for a change looks like a game worth playing... once it's out.. and.. whatever it is...
the engine has huge potential. Generates cities, buildings, interiors procedurally.

from developers' blog:
Why am I doing this? Why on earth am I simulating sliding doors down to the level of proximity sensors and actuators? Buildings are hugely complex beasts, full of lots of different overlapping systems – doors, locks, elevators, cameras, computers, networks, phones, fire control, air control, security guards, staff. Ultimately the Subversion game world will be more real, more controllable, more interesting, and more packed with possibility the more detail we simulate the objects in it with. If you look at modern blockbuster videogames, the number of possible interactions with a world is usually extremely small – and usually involves a gun in your hands – and that’s because the design team had to create every interaction by hand. By simulating complex systems in high detail, I don’t need to think of all the ways the world can be changed – it will just work.

"When your guys open the safe on the 25th floor and find this time bomb inside, and the timer is ticking down from 30 seconds, that’s how long you have before the whole thing explodes in your face. Do you cut the red wire, or the blue wire? Cutting the right wire will stop the timer and disarm the bomb, cutting the wrong wire will set it off. With the system described above, this would become a genuine choice based on the actual operation of the components used to build the bomb. A little bit of rapid research will tell you this particular type of detonator is activated by sending a 1 signal to the 2nd pin. So you cut the 2nd wire, stop the timer, and complete the mission. "
