last album or the previous one, that with a track
suspiciously titled analord...

ceephax floats my boat ive seen him live unpteenth times i

606 is a little plain and ploppy alone but when u record it
to cassette with some acid squeltch it gets a bit distorted
and it sounds more like an 808 then its amazing

analord is modern techno really for want of a better word, i
think it was made with similar equipment as the original
detroit techno and i also think thats where the main
influence comes from in its 'attitude'. not that it realy
needs to be given a label imo but if you wanted to trace the
lineafe seriously you would go and listen to anthing by the
likes of Juan Atkins, Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson etc.

its a bit old (well) but some detroit techno artists might
be similar with analord (carl craig, drexciya) + vitalic !
i always thought analord8 (first tune) were half vitalic
half italo disco or whatever. as far as i know they are not
many electro/techno artists as good as afx sadly. i'm not a
fan of ceephax dunno why..

drexciya fuck i just listend to the interview on youtube hes
amazing

whats italo disco im gonna have to look into that it sounds
good but basically i was looking for new music

and fuck me is that a&d article is a read and a half

"Analogue recording is a must. AD is based on the idea that
the process is as important as the end result, though not
the only important feature of making music. Even the
usefulness of stereo sound has been questioned, Naks Acid
(mono) by AFX poking fun at the fashion of the time for
surround sound technology and 24-bits/96KHz, was recorded on
a Nakamichi high quality 3 head cassette deck, and could be
heard (slightly subversively) on the soundtrack for the Sony
PSP game Wipeout Pure. Naks is the shortening for Nakamichi
used by the fan site naks.com"

fuck me, a cassette music on a sony psp game hahah

Aphex Twin Amen Warrior Chris Moss Acid Ceephax Monolog
X Space Dimension Controller Arnold "House" Dicá Luke
Vibert
Dr Dinsync EOD Acid Quiff The Tusken Raver Fahz0r
Impakt The Tuss Florian Hecker

im gonna check fahz0r must be new coz its internet speak

haven't we heard enough 303, 606 and 808, yawwnnnn!! they've
served their purpose, what more can they possibly bring to
the table. only vibert keeps the flame alive, but he
surrounds his music with a lot more - he makes aphex look
like a talentless hack these days.

Vibert's music is made by a batch .exe that auto-loads
Reason with a bunch of disco samples and 303 acidlines.

Yeah, but it used to be made with all his gear, and now he
just records stuff from his gear and uses reason to mash it
up, cos its easier.
