anyone used this? or has anyone managed to get good with it
- the learning curve looks pretty steep, but some of the
demo songs sound like it has massive potential.

for people who dont know what it is, its like a modern day
tracker, with all the usual daw features such as vsts, etc.

LAZY_TITLE

think snares has been known to use it

if anyone has made any tracks with it please share - i wanna
know if its worth me investing time learning to use it.

why can't we all just make music using our ectoplasmic
superminds and telepathic bliss induction?

i always wanted to get into this.

does it run ok on low spec machines?
i only have access to an Asus EeePC 900, and a Dual G4 Power
Macintosh

i heard somewhere it would run on an asus eepc. i guess a
decentish asio sound card would be needed though.

it even says there is a linux version.

tbh an nLited Windows XP install runs faster than Linux on
an EeePC 900.

having said that, the best distro i've tried on the Eee 900
is Crunchbang Linux (which is nice and lean, and has a great
minimalistic aesthetic approach)

but i'm getting off topic.

i might get a demo of renoise and try it on here.

Renoise itself isn't going to be a total hog, it all depends
on the vsts and effects, and the quantities you use them in.

Renoise rules. Runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux. The devs
keep churning out new features year after year. Here are a
bunch of free XRNS tracks from a compo I held:

http://www.trotch.com/mbc/

These are pre 2.0 tracks though. The tracking conventions
are a bit dated now that we have LBP, PDC, and a high
resolution delay column. Still shining examples of good
times in Renoise though!
