omega 3 fatty acids

Low levels of omega-3 fats linked to cancer, asthma and
other diseases

the article is about much more than that of course but
definitely consider eating a bit more omega 3 if you can.
dietary supplement pills got 'em.

i used to think it was stupid to eat a whole bunch of pills
in the morning. i eat like 4 dietary supplements a day
because my income is fucked up and so are my eating habits.
it is a good way to stay healthy.

if you are healthy then you will have a higher quality of
life and you won't let people tell you what to do all the
time. i think you are probably more likely to do things you
thought you "couldnt do" previously, too. good health brings
about a change in the brain.

My sister was on the news last night about some alcohol and
breast cancer study paper thing she's had published. I was
proud and gave a thumbs up to the TV.

Ω3 fatty acid is great, I eat two units per day and I
think it enhances my mood. That's my only supplement. What
do you use, Cygnus?

Better off eating fish 3 times a week instead of buying
supplements, waste of money.

Fish is not always expensive. Try Young's Salmon Fillets in
Garlic. 4 fillets for £5.00, and if you can buy Morrison's
Basmati Rice 4 for 97p. Just add veg.

You can even buy small tins of fresh tuna in Morrison's for
39p per tin.

True, but frozen fish is as fresh as fish from the
fishmonger. Try saying that without spitting everywhere.

fresh wild fish is expensive
the farm-raised salmon is quite cheap; and if you init
cook.conf, it will come out quite tasty according to my
build/compile.

im not totally convinced; one moment it's "take this to save
you", next, take this. etc.

no doubt it can be good, but i've stopped taking onceaday
vitamins and am trying to get all my vitamins from actual
foods.

im still quite skinny as my metabolism is a bit ahead of its
time (clock for clock)

Mercury and pollution that we dump into the sea, which, when
aborbed by fish gets concentrated by a lot by the time
people eat it.

YYYYYYYYYYYUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMy!

Play it safe, become veggie. :D

that's bullshit, eat enough mercury and you'll get the same
regenerative abilities as a t-1000

Depends what fish you're talking about. Salmon and tinned
Tuna is relatively low in mercury, bigger fish like Shark,
Swordfish, King Mackerel etc. high.

you can't replace good food with supplements, especially
when they taste as good as fish.

flax seed oil isn't a supplement its complimentary to your
food like olive oil fish do what they do cause they have no
choice they just eat what they see is small enough for them
to eat they only young and have no education OR any option
in the matter they cant grow plants and make nutrition
decisions. humans have a choice, can read, can make logical
compassionate decisions. so i choose flax seed. and it
tastes 50 times better. yummy yummy. 1 extra fishy lives to
make love and swim for a while longer then maybe get eaten
by a whale. lol :P

I am pretty dissapointed to hear such a weak argument coming
from you, B.

This is the human impact on the sea eco-system Certainly far more detrimental than fish
eating each other. It's the fact that fish eat each other
that means there are any fish in the seas and oceans at all!

offline Barcode from United Kingdom on 2009-02-27 12:25 [#02275452]
Points: 1767 Status: Lurker

yes, I'm well aware we have a choice. but nature silently
decrees that animals should each other in order to retain a
balanced eco system.

as soon as you add choice into the equation - other animals
don't choose, you're unbalancing the eco system.

Well, for example, if everyone stopped eating meat tomorrow,
you would have 7 billion vegetarians to feed. The result,
massive increase in farming and deforestaion - result of
that would be millions of other species wiped out, from
butterflies to spiders to ants to, well you name it. Why
does a fish deserve our compassion any more than a butterfly
or an ant?

What about when you walk down the street and tread on an
ant? Don't say it's an accident. If you crawled on your
hands and knees with a magnifying glass it need not happen.
Or maybe you just don't care?

fish scream when they are caught very laudly and dolphins
get trapped in the nets and baby whales they mamals .

"
If you crawled on your
hands and knees with a magnifying glass it need not happen.
"

i love that thought , i want to do it .

one day ants wont live on our pathments.....we will build
them a wonderful world to live in far from nasty peoples
smelly feet.

maybe we can change the genetics to stop them hurting ?! we
just offer them good feelings. feelings that begin nice to
begin with but get more and more pleasuable as time goes on.
lol

do with such kind of diet is not sustainable in the modern
