aint that just a shame? the creativity just isn't there anymore. I'm currently playing bioshock, which is meant to be amazing and got rave reviews, but its crap. its rehashing old ideas and it holds no surprises. the Amiga had it all. sigh.

woohoo, Chaos Engine was the shit! And Hunter!!! omg, that game was so wild and amazing and open world, much better than all the current Battlefield Earths and Grand Theft Autos...
"Stunt Car Racer" and "North & South" are some of my other favourites. That video really brings back some memories.
i owned one (Amiga 500), but frankly it didn't have a TON of great original games, or at least not in my collection... The graphics were amazing and colourful, though. Always. Just looking at Turrican 2 and those games... they really shine, even today. But most of the best games on the system were on other systems as well, or ported for them eventually, stuff like lemmings and turrican or those Pinball games.
If there's one game that exemplifies what was typically wrong with Amiga, it's "Superfrog". That game was AMAZINGLY CUTE, really colourful and just breathtaking... But it was also incredibly shallow and unoriginal. The same with "Fire & Ice" and "Zool"! Zool was the worst!! Beautiful and lush, but complete bullshit compared to mario or sonic. Platformers on the system were pretty shallow. Beautiful, but shallow. Just like many Amiga games. Graphics were easy to do, but gameplay was sweet as candy, and made you sick in the long run!!
"Apidya" is another great-looking amiga game, that was real fun and trippy, but actually pretty shallow towards the end. But we never complained - we only had a demo of the game. :D
Overall, yeah, great system. Really fun arcade style action with breathtaking environments. Beautiful graphics, just super! It really kicked the asses of most of the consoles and computers of that time period just in terms of palette and animation.
Funnily enough, my best memories of that system are from playing "Captain Planet!" That game was amazing!! Aah, saving the planet! To a very beautiful multi-layered background. What else can you ask for?

Title: Harry the Haddock Developer: N/A Year of Release: N/A No. Players: 1 Graphics: * Control: * * Sound: * Genre: Platformer Harry the Haddock Screenshot NOOOOOOOO!
SOUNDS/MUSIC MP3s Main Theme In-Game (if you dare!) BAAAAD! GAAAAAH! LEAVE ME ALONE! NO NOT THE MUSIC! HELP ME! HE STARES AT ME!!
Any game that has the awful pop song 'Saturday Night' from the mid 90s looped as its in-game music deserves nothing at all!
I don't think I will ever understand this game, nor will I understand the reasons why I am even typing out a review for it! Maybe some strange person will be looking for some strap of evidence of its existence, or maybe a brand new Amiga fan will be looking for a game to get...
If you are one of the latter... do not get this game! Please, spare yourself of the sheer pointlessness!
How can I put it, a haddock called Harry (you can guess that much) runs and jumps about on piers and beaches with huge, unsightly red sunglasses on, collecting stuff and avoiding enemies like seagulls and crabs which... seem rather oblivious to the walking haddock-sapien on the beach...
Is there anything I can say that is good about this game? I am putting a lot of gaps in this review to make it look bigger than it is...
Maybe, if you actually LIKE 'Saturday Night' then you may find this game... interesting...
(cough)

I had an Amiga 600, 1200. I made music in Octamed, sliced samples with a sampler (still have the sampler and the floppies), made drawings and animations in DPaint IV, played Wings and other amazing games with a MegaDrive pad, great system, you could do a lot with that little computer. Oh and the DEMOS!! Stuff like 9 fingers and State Of The Art, still groovy.

the thing with UAE is all about kickstarts. I had spend some time editing the preferences of the sys performance for games and its not that hard to do. but yeah, it takes time for a beginner to do and could be annoying.

I also had an Atari ST, I really liked the bee icon, I think it made me like bees ever since. KARATE KID, picking up the flies with the chopsticks, breaking pack of ice pads, great times, IK+ was my favorite game on the ST.
On the Amiga my favorite games were the Pinball Dream games, specially Illusions on 1200, also the AGA Arcade Pool was very smooth and until this day the only virtual pool game I've ever liked, Wings the dog fights were fun and they were much faster rendered when played on a 030 or 040 than on my old 600, Walker was the tits, that's all that needs to be said.

I had both, commodore 64 and amiga, and i have to say I loved my C64 more, but it was still an older generation machine which couldn't compete with amiga's super-amazing graphics. When I wanted to trip out on rainbow coloured bliss, I went for my amiga.
