HOW do you listen to music?

How do you go about listening to organized noise that is
pleasing to your fleshy ears and vibrating eardrum
mechanisms?

I usually hear it, unfortunately, on my PATHETICALLY
pathetic computer monitor built in speakers. They're not
particularly good... but I'm lazy, and just using Winamp is
so much more convenient than walking over to the stereo.

Which isn't a great stereo... just an adequate thing that
does the job. When I'm not lazy, I'd rather use that.
Autechre sounds 10,000 times better on them. THAT is an
audiophile's band, I bet (I'm not an audiophile).

And if it's really late, I'll listen to CD-Rs on the 'ol
discman. Or when I'm on the bus, or walking to or home from
the bus stop.

I think I have to get some kick ass computer speakers
pronto...

Huh? See, I'm clueless with these audio/video things. How
would I go about doing THAT?

I mostly listen to music though headphones with my eyes
closed because it sounds the best that way. It depends on
the music though

I'm usually at my computer, or i'm carrying my discman
around. I finally decided to buy some decent headphones
recently, and it's improved my lisetening expereince
dramatically. One day i'd like to put together a stereo
system w/ a good sub. for now the headphones work quite
well.
I find that music is much more interesting if you're doing
something while listening. I love listening to aphex on the
bus or the subway.

just stick the cable up the ass... it really feels good I
tells ya!!!! :)

but I listen to music mainly with my discman... it provides
excellent sound directly to the brain, and it's nice and
portable... but sometimes I listen with my stereo, or my
computer speakers...

my computer speakers S U C K
they are horrible at anything above minimal listening
volume.. they screw up the eq.. certain fequencies aer much
louder, that sort of thing
i HATE listening to music on them.. i almost never do
i listen on my sony headphones (REAL headphones, not earbuds
or that wrap-around-style shit)
they aren't even THAT good, but they are the best i have
access too, and MUCH better than my copmuter speakers
i have a stereo in my room, its not too great, but not bad
either
$200, mid-range, i guess..
i almost always just listen w/ headphones though.. im too
lazy to burn ALL my music onto CD-Rs
the only time i really use CDs is w/ my discman on the
bus/in the car/ at work
and then i use my sony's w/ my discman, so i guess SONY has
a monopoly on my ears:)

i planning to get good computer speakers w/ a subwoofer
soon, when i have some money

also, im spending like $100 to fix this old GOOD technics
amp and tuner from like the 70s, along w/ these 2 big ass
speakers w/ it
their loud as hell and they sound REALLY good
clear, and great bass

and they look cool too! chrome/aluminum (something like
that), so they look all classy, yet still high tech
no black plastic!

Running the computer sound output to the aux input on the
stereo was like a revelation when I first did that. It was
nothing but MP3 from there on out. If you are listening
through your computer speakers and there is a stereo sitting
right there then go do it today!

I've got a great pair of Yamaha computer speakers with a
sub-woofer, connected up to my laptop; really hate
listening to music on anything else now...the sub adds so
much, music is so much more weighty and actually feels like
it has some physical presense....

Do yourself a favour and get a sub....they ain't that
expensive...
