obara, is this worth downloading?

offline obara from Utrecht on 2009-02-18 13:41 [#02273279]

download the not-demo version, keep producing hard, and
come back here in about 6 months. and choose a topic title
without the "idm" word in it.

good luck

and log-out quickly before you get some nasty reviews. the
good-advice-uncle-obi has spoken

doturtgod, keep in mind that lots of people here produce
music, more than there is time to listen. some people here
produce at a very high level, much beyond beginners.
expectations are higher, if you can get people to listen.
take it to the next level like uncle obi said, hang out a
bit so you don't seem like a stranger holding a sac of soggy
spam, and then let us have a listen.

It must feel terrible to put something like this out, and
then get it torn to pieces by some anonymous cynics on a
derelict MB, but here i go.

I really don't like it. Mind you, i'm into music that has
some sort of melodic quality that i can enjoy, but even
Autechre can give me that sensation from time to time (i
mention them, because it seems like it's them you're trying
to copy). "Chakko" is the only one of the lot that seems to
have some sort of musical thought put into it, but its
embarrassingly obvious that it's because of an arpeggiator.

When you make music like that, you have to make sure that
the sounds you use are unique, and this is not the case with
this preset bile. The structure of the songs and the rythms
aren't interesting in any way either. This is what's
supposed to make the songs good!

Having said that, listen to plaidzebra now, and please
return when you have some new (and hopefully better) music!

can someone plz upload a 'highlight' track?

offline Barcode from United Kingdom on 2009-02-18 17:24 [#02273330]

There isn't a highlight track - it's utter tripe. I would
normally advise the person behind it to practice, but it's
so monumentally evident he hasn't a clue, and more to the
point completely tone deaf - it would only be cruel to waste
his time by giving encouragement.
