universe's immune system

Right now, humanity is not very contagious. It has only one
strain and has infected only one planet. However as soon as
we infect a few nearby planets, the universe's normally
dormant immune system will be triggered. Yet unseen alarmed
planetary space cannibals will rush in from the deep reaches
of space and feast on the infected planets to stop the
infection.

That's why we're developing ironically gigantic nano-bots to
fight them. Each nano-bot will be the size the moon and will
be able to process many thousands of space cannibals before
requiring maintenance.

You're giving us way too much credit as a pathology
