Hey all, I haven't been around these parts in a while.
Working full time and computer troubles which I have simply
been too lazy to fix were mostly the cause. That and a few
of you were rubbing me the wrong way and I decided I needed
a break, but seeing as everyone has their energy focused on
hating on bit bare and music maker (whether they're the same
person or not) I should be pretty good.

I just wanted to drop in and let you guys know I'm playing
my first official paid gig (y'know, like not at a house or
university party) this Friday, and it's FREE!!

It's at the Downtown Bar & Grill in Berkeley CA, just 5
seconds from the Downtown Berkeley BART
station at 2102 Shattuck Ave.

It is initially an art opening to local SF painter Ian Ross,
who does phenomenal abstract work with house paints,
including the auctioning off of a live painting which he
will be doing that night. That is from 7-9 pm.

From 9 till 2 we will be ripping it up. Starting off the
night are Evolutionista and my friend's band Sparktree
with some downtempo groovy tunes. Then I, DJ Lobie,
will be getting things really rolling with my usual
dubstep/glitch-hop/mash-up stylee. After that are
The Flying Skulls, a fantastic laptop/MPD duo who spin some
really bumping dubstep/hip-hop sets. Closing the night will
be SF resident Mozaic of Hookerz & Blow. I havent
seen him play yet, but what I've heard sounds good.

So I hope to see all you Bay Area XLTers out there! (Yes,
all two of you.)

Also, Tragejessie sent me a link to my birthday thread.
Thanks all for that, I ended up seeing Amon Tobin on the
31st and working all day, but t'was fun in the end.

to this day i still regret freaking out at you, hedphukker.
you pressed my buttons and goddamn it man i lost my shit. i
rubbed you in the wrongest way. without bit bare to
distract me i think i might still be screaming, covered in
blood and bits of hair and tissue.

anyway, congrats on your gig. sadly, it's a 29 hour nonstop
drive for me, so i can't make it. here's hoping it's a
dreamy affair.
