If this is really the end, then why was everyone allowed to freak out about the year 2000 thinking it was the end times or everthing was gonna go haywire?
Why until recently have there been no warnings or people who have come forward to discuss it.
Are we this miserable a species to perpetuate a need to have "our world" collapse so we have a "new beginning?"
Nazi schemes

If the world ends in 2012 think about the implications, a culture centuries ago managed to predic a major World event, it's not going to happen.

i think there are worse implications in the world ending than our having to rethink the predictive powers of an ancient civilization.

The thing with prophecies is that no matter how irrelevant they are in terms of validity, there are powerful people out there that can bring them about. I'm not saying some kind of ancient cult bred to this day to set it in motion, but yeah.. with all the bullshit that's been going down, 2012 does seem like a fitting year.
Hadron? fuck no. Global warming? myth. Collapse of the monetary system = mass hysteria = new world order? quite fucking possibly.
If you think I'm talking bullshit then you need to wake up. We all need to awaken and do something. I don't know what though. Within the next decade, over 90% of the population is going to be killed. Start worrying.

...need to wake up?
Vague statements like that really have no value, especially when talking about this 2012 situation.
The fact is, you or I or anyone else has no real idea of what's gonna happen, unless someone who is privy to that information is keeping it quiet.
It just doesn't make sense to me how no one was talking about this 2012 prophecy shit 20 years ago.
It's almost like a form of Global Narcissism thinking that "God" Is of course somehow directly linked with the downfall of U.S. Economy and the hysteria thereafter.
Uhh, no..God didn't do that, we did. It's people's fault, just like it's the people's opportunity to change the way this is all gonna work out.
If by "waking up," you mean to become more aware of the power we have as people, then i agree.
We think we know what God is, but we have no idea.
God is the miracle that you are alive to even take a breath of air and sustain your life.
2012 is a subconscious suicidal wet-dream to avoid the natural cause of death. In my opinion.

even though what you say sounds artsy and poetic, i agree. But the reason i created a thread about it was because, people are powerful enough to make shit actually happen, regardless of what fate has in store for us.

2012? what about 20 days from now? there's no way to know the future - you can only create it.

there is no such thing as controlling ones own destiny. the brain can only want to re-live a past event. all of the chemicals that make up the tissues that make up your organs that make up your organ systems have no idea what destiny means. not because they don't read books, but because they are in tune with their inner environment and function harmoniously with the universe. destiny, religion, all of this garbage is just a cancerous byproduct of brain activity. there is no destiny because all destinations are the same - cell diffusion and change. there is not external environment wherein your goals will be manifested. EVER! theres only the internal environment which is trying to evolve and change, and brain activity says, "No! I want this! And only this!"
the humans' world is miserable because the human thinks it is not of the world. it thinks it is going somewhere. that is why famine and misery exist. because of some new destiny humans are trying to create. remember when you wear a lucky rabbits foot that the rabbit used to have 4 of them - and look how good it did him.
*bells gong and a wind passes as you contemplate these deep thoughts. perhaps you notice a trickle of urine streaming down your leg because of shock*

how is that being defensive? It just seems you use words in an artistic, pretty way, instead of using language as a means of getting your point across.
