These guys don't get credit for the right reasons. I think they deserve a lot more credit than they receive -- and not because of their connection to LSD and the psychedelic San Francisco scene and the summer of love.
These guys were just fucking great musicians, with an excellent no-bullshit smooth-voiced female lead singer, and extremely innovative instrumentation, tone, and extended technique.
Their best album is After Bathing at Baxter's - not Surrealistic Pillow. Who's with me?
