haha, that doesn't look anything like street fighter or ANYTHING.
why do they keep making these movies? Did they think after the FIRST street fighter movie that "ooh, this would make a nice sequel"? crazy bitches.

yea, gets your hopes up while pulling them down.
"it is the dumbest fucking thing I’ve seen since IN THE NAME OF THE KING: A DUNGEON SIEGE TALE."
if that's true, I want to see this film!!

i dont understand directors adapting popular video game franchises to the big screen, is it so hard to remain at least 50% faithful to the games?
luckily a bad game to movie adaptation never seems to harm the reputation of the game, for example mario bros, res evil etc

Silent Hill's probably the best of the adaptions.
But the monsters have no symbolical value whatsoever, the story's kind of crap, and it doesn't have
that theatrical feel the games have.
The spaces between the dialogues, the silence. All the cutscenes in the game are all limited to a single room, it's a theatre scene. The movie has none of that.
Basically it's too hollywood, and too less japanese in approach.

yea, silent hill is probably the best, but that's like picking the best kind of turd.
actually takashi miike's "Like a Dragon" (based on Yakuza) is my favourite. Mortal Kombat 1 is also stellar in a ridiculous way.

"The best kind of turd".
Haha, yeah.
Mortal Kombat 1 f-ing rocks! Those were the times...
Do you have any recommendations of Takashi Miike that is worth a look? I've heard mentions of "Audition".

it's hard to say where to start with Miike... He has very different styles in his movies: horror (Audition), action (Ichi The Killer), comedy (Happiness of the Katakuris)... actually, those three movies are probably a good place to start and should be easy to find.
But I also like his more difficult movies, like Izo and Blues Harp.

Ichi the Killer ... it involves drills, if I'm not mistaken? :D

I want to see "I'm a cyborg, but That's OK" by Chan-wook Park.
I've only seen Lady Vengeance, so far (by the same director), but I like the trailer, and korean films in overall.

racist! korean is not japanese :D
but all of chan-wook park's films are great, Lady vengeance is actually my favourite, but the whole "vengeance" trilogy is good and so is the cyborg film. actually everything by him.

No drills in Ichi, as far as i remember. "Tetsuo" by Tsukamoto on the other hand has the best conceivable scene with the usage of drill.
