Thin brick has demonstrated substantial cost savings in seismic “zone 4” engineering over the years but is growing in popularity in other seismic zones as well. Scheduling other trades around thin brick construction is much simpler than conventional brick construction. This is because the thin brick can be applied after the building is up, as opposed to waiting for the conventional brick building to be built. Typically, the scaffolding used by the plasterer is used by the thin brick installer once the plastering is complete. This feature also saves space on the jobsite as the plaster scaffolding is much narrower than typical brick scaffolding.
