Ok, how about this one? I have a bunch of bondage pic on my

this danish webring that somebody here tipped us on a couple
of days ago:www.degulepornosider.dk

i'm just saying that meho has great taste, it's not the fact
that the pics are sexually explicit, it's the type of
explicity...japanese merzbow style bondage. very tasteful,
angsty, very artsy, and very powerful.

speaking of merzbow, if there are merzbow fans on this
board, has anyone seen "paradise lost?" it's suposed to be
the video where the excerpts that are on "Music for bondage
performance 1" was the soundtrack to... i've check all over,
and cna't find it....

Holy shit, nanotech, you dig Merzbow? I've just burned
merzbox sampler (ten tracks selected from merzbox) and can't
seem to get it outta my discman. Merzbow is king.

a ridiculously small amount of information on Akita.

yeah....very small amout...i was even subscribed to the
merzbow yahoo egroup, and all they do is promote their own
wanna be noise...i mean anyone out there with a tape
recorder and a delay/distortion pedal is doing this...

Yeah, shit I got sound forge two days ago and it took me no
more than one hour to make a merzbow pastiche composition
(made from a sample from citizen Kabuto opening sequence).
But I'm not dumb enough to think it's any good and make it
public. To be good you have to be insanely devoted, like
Akita. That digital merzbow page was pretty good for
scavanging album covers and tracklists, but no new entries
for an awful long time...

did you know that he strictly uses laptops now? i think he
might do some old scholl stuff, but the buzz is that ppl
don't like the digital stuff...personaly i haven't heard any
so i'm indifrent...

Yeah, he bought a G3 to design cover artwork for merzbox and
discovered that he can "have a one second merzbow sample and
turn it into an hour of noise". So now his gigs are just
like: he presses a button and sits, arms folded for an hour
("like an emperor", as told by Otomo Yoshihide). I haven't
heard any of it either, but all the reviews in the wire were
positive...

Well, nanotech, funny that you mention this as Im currently
reading this Stockhausen's interview dowwnloaded from Wire's
site where he says that limitations actually make you more
creative. With just limited resources you can think of ways
to get maximum performance out of them, whereas with an
infinity of, say, soundforge plug-ins you just spoil
yourself for choice and don't even try too hard to explore
what it is that certain plug-in can actually do. My own
home music was mostly made of tape splicing, cutting-up,
pause button editing and manipulation (scratch, reverse,
etc.), plus with some "creative" sound recording with a
cheap tape recorder, and I know a lot of people who did
miracles with these techniques.. So, now that I have
soundforge, loop based software and shit, I'll just try to
concentrate on mysic instead on software... (not that I'll
make any of it public...) I mean, early merzbow was for the
most part fucking around with tapes and shit.

i've been on both side of that...

in my eairly days, i had only a few proggies...but now...i
am in the upper-medium class of beind technological spoiled
as far as musical software goes...

infact that remix i just made for phob, and this site took
me like a few hours, and i was done. while the stuff i
normally work on takes me months, before i even get
satisfied, and even consider releasing it...

though...aube is the same but a little better...if you
didn't live so far we could trade some cd-r's but i jsut
traded 20 to a friend in germany, and it costed my over $30

offline Meho Krljic from Beograd (Yugoslavia) on 2002-03-29 11:51 [#00148778]
Points: 6617 Status: Addict

nanotech, sorry to kep you waiting, I had some phonecalls to
do... business as usual... Yeah, I dig power electronics
when they're good But a lot of it is just pretentious crap
(like, people are praising Brighter Death Now from sweden,
and I have 5 of his albums but it's lame and boring compared
to merzbow). Anyway, I have a lot of noise of this and that
description... You should check out Joseph Suchy's debut CD
(try www.churchofgrob.com for more info), it's all
computer-treated guitar but it's totally earsplitting, like
merzbow (apparently, he's been getting ready to record it
since '78, but has done it after merzbow's performance in
his town of Cologne)... I have a lot of minimal, painful
japanese okyo stuff (otomo yoshihide, sachiko m, toshimaru
nakamura etc.), not as heavy as merz but earshredding with
high frequences and so on... Well, have you ever considered
trading mp3 discs, that would mean 6-10 albums on a disc and
that reduces p&p prices considerably. In fact, i sent a disc
of autechre/ gescom mp3s to recycle last week and he is
nowhere to be found on this board since...

did he at least send? that sucks to get burned on that
stuff...do you have a list? Mine's up at trade list

as far as the power electronics....get some CONVERTER!!!!
this man is the shiznat, and he lives right here in seattle.
i also sugest winterkalte, and tarmvred.

ugh, I don't have a list, I've been planning to type it in
since ages but i'm just too lazy (and the list grows longer
and longer) but next week i'll be alone in the office and i
might force myself to do it. I'll check out your list in a
couple of minutes... anyway, i don't think recycle is out to
burn me (he seems like a nice chap...) and even if he was,
that was like about $8 only, so what the hell. I'd like to
check those guys you mention out but it's a slim chance
obviously.

industrial-inclined, aren't we. Hey, how come you don't have
any Download stuff (and you have two cevin key's solo
efforts, are they any good btw?), to me download is awesome:
to fucking brutal and weird to be IDM and too smart to be
proper industrial.

well, i don't know that much about his substance abuse

well as long as its pot, he's pretty much safe. The way I
heard it, Ogre and Dwayne were much more into needle
pricking sports. Even the track with the piano on "The
Process" (the one with "She's not insane" chorus) is
supposedly about ogre's junkie girlfriend

yeah, well I mostly hate reznor for conjuring that brian
warner into marilyn manson (a caricature of reznor
actually), but i worship his quake soundtrack... Ever tried
Godflesh, they used to be really grrrreat in the late
eighties and early nineties? Even the new stuff is quite
listenable, but not as good, I find broadrick's ICE and
Techno Animal adventures with Kevin Martin better in the
last 6 years or so.

i head a few tracks of godflesh, and dismissed it as to
guitar heavy. i do hear that techno animal is pretty damn
good, but i haven't heard any.

offline Meho Krljic from Beograd (Yugoslavia) on 2002-03-29 13:14 [#00148850]

well, you have a shitload of rammstein so you pro'bly should
not dismiss things as too guitar heavy (or so I'd have
thought), but, yes, newer Godflesh (as in since '93) relies
more and more on this big fucking wall of solid steel mixed
with concrete guitar. But the first LP and the second one,
"Streetcleaner" are much freer: the bass does the riffs, but
guitars just scream all over the sky and it was all heavily
influenced by acid and other prohibited stuff, it seems. A
lot of industrial music that came after streetcleaner was
just crap, lame copycats trying to emulate master's work.
And techno animal really is interesting, , their '95 album
"Re-Entry" is a fucking monster (a double CD with 11 or 12
tracks of heavy pounding industrial-dub-hop, totally
entrancing) and even the latest one on matador is pretty
good, they used a bunch of excellent rappers (antipop
consortium, El-P and Vast Aire, Toastie Taylor, dalek etc..)
who rhyme over fucked up broken beats, mammoth basslines and
screeching distorsion... Stooopid but good.

i used to be into rammstein, and have a soft spot of 90's
industial, like nin, but the tracks i heard of godflesh was
more metal influenced than i dig...I'm mostly passionate
about one-man electronic projects, and collabs are always
good too, but only if they are meaningful, and not some
piece of record label shit.
