I have the opportunity to learn to play an instrument (a keyboard or piano) by an unemployed music teacher. Should I do it?
To be honest, I dont think im very talented, nor do i have the discipline or intrest to train everyday. But hey, I like music.

No doubt, do it. I took piano lessons for a year and it was great. I can't play anything more advanced than chords to Bob Dylan, but it gave me a good insight into the technicalities of music without spoiling anything.

i have played the piano for years when i was much younger and today i have lost basically every last bit of skill.
my parents and my teacher were too kind to show me this cold truth: i don't have the mental capacity to keep up with what's going on, the memory capacity to remember what i've learned and a lack of drive to keep working on something in general.
it is one of the greatest sorrows in my life, because the piano is the most beautiful instrument on earth and i would sell my soul to be able to play everything i can think of.
so the problem is you need either talent which is programmed into your genes, or the willpower and endurance of a machine to keep playing until it becomes a routine. i know many people will disagree with this but thats what it boils down to for me.
Now in answer to your question: go for it, if you can handle the disappointment when you fail and give up after having had a taste of how exquisite a few simple chords can sound when you play them yourself. Good luck.
