I sure hope The Venus Project (better info in 2nd half of
zeitgeist addendum) succeeds and sends money the way of the
dinosaur, so we can look back on our predator/prey economic
system, just as we look back on our 'red in tooth and claw'
evolutionary lineage, and go.. damn, I'm glad that's not us
anymore.

'The people who did it are barely even proper fraudsters,
they just write to random people and say "give me some
money" If you fall for it then you're just paying stupidity
tax.'

ha ha ha, scientology is a stupidity tax too. Seems a good
racket to be in nowadays.

'However, if Mrs Spears would be prepared to send me just
$100, I will send her the first chapter of my new book -
'How Not To Be Fooled by Scammers' - and she will be safe
forever more.'

ha ha ha

This American Life has a good story of reversal involving
this sort of scam. It's sort of funny. It starts at about
five and a half minutes in. You can just skip ahead.

Story

This thread outlines what happened I think.
