haha!

And I thought the net was just for porn...

This site is delightful! ^^

I wonder what it is about sinks that cats like. I mean, the
shape may be comfy, but surely not the hard surface?

Its just forumla:
1) ads for something to make money (in this case 'kittenwar'
book or whatever the hell they're selling)
+
2) some lame shitty viral community driven concept to get
people to come look at the ad

I want to get in this business but I don't know how to do
internets.

Cats have a penchant for finding comfort in the least
comfortable places. I get a sore back from sleeping on too
soft a mattress, whereas my cat will find a way to sleep
soundly whilst straddling the 3"-wide back of a wooden
chair.

i fucking hate cats.

like nietzsche said: "what do I care about the purring of
one who cannot love, like the cat?"

dogs, however, they know love and loyalty.

dogs are slaves, cats are free

dogs aren't slaves, they actually choose if they respect
their owner.

if your goal is having a 'free' pet, then you might as well
get a boa constrictor and let it kill you.

Hah. Cat's choose whether they respect their owners, too.
Their standards just aren't lax as hell.

If you want respect and loyalty without having to earn
either, by all means get a dog.

Also, in my experience, the majority of people just have no
concept of how to approach any animal that isn't a dog.
People assume you can push a cat onto its back and rub its
belly the moment you meet it, and if you can't, then it's
the cat's fault. Try approaching slowly, and without heavy
foot-fall, but let the cat see you approach it. When you're
near, slowly extend one hand to its face and let it grow
accustomed to your scent. If it doesn't recoil away from
you, slowly begin to pet it's head as GENTLY as you can,
gradually working your way to the neck and back. Stay away
from the butt or belly of any cat that doesn't know you
really well, and progress from there. Most cats will
eventually (some instantly) come around to this method. You
have to keep in mind that cats have a much broader range of
personalities than dogs.

and by butt, I mean the lower back by the tail. I can't
think of a reason you'd ever want/need to pet the actual
anus of any animal.

if you refuse to feed your cat at all, it'll run away.

if you refuse to feed your dog, it'll stay beside you.

why do you see homeless people with dogs and not cats?

Would you not attempt to leave if someone held you against
your will with no food? Basically, your argument is that
dogs are better because they have no instinct of
self-preservation.

that's what i'm saying: dog feels it must stay at your side.
cat don't.

this all is a question of domestication and intelligence.

no one can say a cat is more intelligent than a dog.

sure, a pet is a pet. if it makes you feel good, who cares?

but i'd rather have no self-preservation than
self-preservation in a pet.

this is getting circular: how can you love something that
cannot love you?

dogs can, cats can't.

I still feel like you're missing what I'm saying. In fact,
10 years ago I may have been inclined to agree with you. I
think it's a gross oversimplification to say that cats
simply CAN'T love. My cat is so loyal and loving, it's
almost sad. She follows me around the house, everywhere I
go, and sleeps on me at night when I go to bed. There is no
question in my mind that cats can "love," and that my cat
"loves" me.

And what is love, anyway? As you said, "if it makes you feel
good, who cares?"

p.s. they're both/all animals. you can't really judge for
sure how they work. you can only specify your preferences.

one prefers dogs, the other - cats

and coming back to topic: cats in sinks espaciulley

you're right.

i don't know what love is.

i'm drunk and i don't want to pursue this conversation any
further.

still:

dogs > cats.

i'm lost.

I think the wise Obie has set us straight. Neither of us can
say for sure what's going on in those fuzzy animal noggins,
and there's really nothing wrong with preferring one over
the other. :)

haha.. it's my own fault, anyway.
