Music televisions demographic are 'tweens' (11-14). Why even bother addressing these songs, like isn't it obvious they were going to suck ?

hahahaha, 100% agreed.
his writing has always been nothing but complete agony to read. stick to the music tom (just not the music you made on your new album, as its a bit shit INNIT)

I think Squarepusher could have saved himself, and the reader, a lot of bother just be playing his track through Winamp and selecting random visualisations.

Jesus christ, if he really listened to those singles I have rediscovered my respect for him, jesus... do people actually make music like that, let alone listen to it? "Scouting for Girls"... they make Deep Blue Something sound like fucking Steve Reich.

Six of the people I live made a 150 mile pilgrimage to see Scouting For Girls a while back. I was invited but decided my time would be better spent shoving rusty screws down my japs eye. Not only do these people make this music, they make a lot of money doing it as well, which must be the attraction I guess. These men write music designed to seduce 12 year old girls.

Tom's very elitist, but entitled to his opinion of course.
He doesn't seem to understand the concept of light entertainment, not everything has to be high brow - Take That and Robbie Williams have written some great tunes, not that I listen to them regularly.

Great sphere of influence, handpicked boy band Take That and .. ex-member of Take That. Sure, they did some great covers. Is Squarepusher elitist? He's off the fucking scale, he's neither here and far less there. I actually enjoyed his reviews, at least they were brief.

Filthy Dukes return with a fine examplar of the time-honoured dictum: "If it's crap, just add rap!
His latest album was a bit hard to get into, but this makes it all worth it.
