So, this is something I have been frustrated with about
live ever since I got it for original xbox 4 years ago. Why
can't every game follow the Halo 2 & 3 matchmaking standard?
I am tired of having to join someone else's game hosted on
their system and be at their mercy as to whether or not I
can play and how I have to play. People don't usually boot
you just for being rude, disruptive, etc. They boot you if
you didn't play well enough, they want to cherry pick who
they play against, because you didn't follow some house
etiquette or they just simply want to be an ass.

If I have to pay for a gold membership to play other people
online there should be no other player that has the ability
to boot me from a game. It should all be hosted by the
service, on the same kind of neutral ground for everyone you
would get in an arcade, sports complex, or wherever you pay
money to play games.

Recently, in Soul Calibur 4, I join a game and watch the
other matches and wait for my turn. Then when it is my turn
I ready up and the host boots me so they can play again. Or
I play once and they boot me the 2nd time around. It's not
just that game, and tho it's not like I get booted a lot or
anything its just something over time it has worn on me
quite a bit.

Anyone else hate shit like this? Or think that if they pay
for a service, it should be a service which is hosted and
moderated by official people, and run by an automated
matchmaking server?

You make some solid points in that rant of yours. As much of
any of us may agree with you, though, it won't change much
if you don't send that to Micro$haft. :)

I've never been booted off of a game (at least on Halo 3),
and I'm rubbish. I've been abused by the other players,
fatally betrayed, had my Rep ruined by kids, Americans with
something against Brtis, chavs against a non-chav, I've
delibertaly let a side down that i got the arse with... but
I've never been booted. How can someone boot you? I didn't
think anyone in particular Hosted a game as such, unless it
was a private match?

Oh sorry, I just read your post properly... so Halo 2 and 3
are the exceptions... ok.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience, I would've assumed
the Halo way was the only sensible way, considering what
fucking cocks you get on those games.

This problem is as old as online gaming itself. Shame you
have to pay for the priviledge.
