amazing, "steppenwolf" had the exact opposite effect on me.
of course diverting me from a huge part of the world.
but i felt with harry haller and i thought he was much
happier getting his portion of "the mainstream people"
and women although it caused him deep cuts.
he didnt really seem happy being all alone either
and i thought that this shouldnt happen to me.

may have to reread, its been 10 years now.
had it laying in the bathroom for some time
and i would pick it up while taking a shit
open randomly and read a page or 2.
i was baffled how everytime it blew my mind.

Someday This Pain Will Be Useful To You, by Peter
something-or-other

It's about this guy who hates everybody, even his mom, and
he's really lonely, or feels raelly lonely, but he's not
actually lonely at all. He likes his grandma. Thats the only
person he likes. He doesn't want to go to college or
anything like that, but he wants to move to the Midwest and
live in an old Victorian house.

It's good. But don't take my word for it.
