I hate everything, including you. But I use Microsoft.

I've never touched a Mac, at least not since I've been
computer literate (almost 2 years). I just hear about them
all the time on the internet... they're a mystery to me.

I don't like microsoft. i use a mac. I just like the user
experience better. my computer is stable, easy to use, and
it looks good.
Apple all the way!

What kind of Linux software are you looking for?

Apple and Microsoft are both evil. But Microsoft is
developing a Digital Rights Management system to restrict how you would listen
to music and watch movies, so I'd say it is more evil.

Games and music creation. There are games, but not the sort
of variance or quality of the PC.

Games, forget it. There's a pretty active audio scene - but
it's still mostly DIY, no pretty install wizards. Have you
looked at at Linux Sound & MIDI?

I dual boot Win2k / Debian Linux.

Linux is simply brilliant for audio and is getting better
every day, I don't really play any games so everything is
peachy for me.

Linux software on Apple hardware is a popular solution, an
iBook2 is my perfect laptop and will most likely be a future
purchase.

HERE is a good article that explains the current
situation with linux and audio.

I don't like Operating systems, I just want to run my
favourite programs fast and easy.
I use Microsoft cause all the programs run on it. I'm glad
they made things more stable. BeOS was my favourite but
unfortunately, it's dead now :( I hope Linux will grow into
something more media friendly and will gain softwaresupport.

Tough call.

Its not really about software support, most things that can
be ported have been. Whats holding it back is the lack of
standards for media created by big mean companies such as
Microsoft Office file formats that change every release to
prevent compatibility with other software.

Pisses me off

Microsoft!!!!
If you can't beat them - buy them, ohhh yeahhhh!!

Bill Gates is a major shareholder in Apple anyway - I think
they're building computers on borrowed time!! he he he
