New LP by Benoît Pioulard to be released on Kranky,
October 14th.

His debut LP on Kranky from 2006 ('Précis') was pretty damn
good. I got introduced to his music when he posted over at
WATMM. I don't think he's an active member there anymore,
though.

For those unfamiliar with his music, it's... well sort of
hard to categorize. It's lo-fi/ambient/shoegaze/
electronic/folk-ish, and sounds like a collab between Four
Tet and Cocteau Twins in a cave. Or something.

Listen for yourselves.The first and second song are from his new LP.

His older work is incredible, I found him on a mood gadget
compilation. Really beautiful stuff.

it's kind of dull. not as dull as most of this kind of stuff
but still not very exciting.
