With this talk of the "R&S days" I was just playing "Digeridoo" for the first time in what seems ages (still A CHOON after what, 30 years?) and, leaving the window open (recklessly) I went outside for a fag with it still playing. And whilst I was out there, I heard this other "beat" come in, I presumed from next door. And it went really well with Didg', and I thought to myself "I wonder what that track is, maybe I can go back inside and mix the two together, like my international superstar DJ friends Dave Vlars and Sven Hanal." ...when I realised it was in fact the sound of the rain striking the roof. It was Mother Earth herself playing along with Aphex Twin. And you can't get any higher endorsement than that. So hats off to Aphex! |
