I'm so altruistic

I'm not having children FOR my children. They don't have to
live, nor do their potential children, nor do their
potential children ad infinitum, all because of me! I'm a
hero!

Assuming I would have had 3 kids and they each would have
had 3 kids, that's about 43 million people I saved from
complete agony, and that's only 16 more generations!
(actually less probably because couples replicate not
individuals but I sucks at math, plus I probably calculated
it wrong anyway).

i think that growing a son it's the ultimate responsibility.
it'd be good to be a father even if i'll never become one.

I want to go to church and right duing the quietest part
when everyone is 'praying', fart, and then exclaim in an
overly loud boisterous voice 'THAT SMELLS LIKE THE LORD OUR
SAVIOR!'.

And does your dog believe in jesus? Your cat? You better
make sure that they do.

and

throw rocks into the nearby waters

W m W : I have a question for you, and I want to you think
long and hard, and not make any quick decisions just to
please me. Ok, here it is....If I leave my wife and son
behind, would you want to get into a gay man-love
butt-humping marriage with me and we could adopt 100's of
children, as for neither you or I are able to have children.

Just think about it, and reply later.

i love you eternally, even cosmically.

all my insecurities are but an atomic blast which i pray to
reach your ever distant soul.

i hope for you at night. you are a part of me. undying i lay
solemnly wishing for our perfect existence feeding carrots
to star rangers and prancing free on the meadow green
mountains of distant and foggy expanses. i long for
eternity. i long for all as one. all for xlt. all for beige
brown and grey. and ghey. this is it. i long for us.

Does altruism exist? If you're honest with yourself, every
act of kindness has a motive rooted in self interest.

What about it? A religious person might do it because it's
what the bible taught them - that's selfish. A soldier might
to do it out of fear of appearing a coward - selfish.
Another might do it because they're thick. That's stupidity.
If you did it on impulse I wouldn't call that altruism
either.

what about all the clever atheists? :p People have more than
one motivating factor. Just because you can rationalize any
percent of it to be of benefit to the individual emotionally
doesn't discount the altruistic motivations. your approach
is a bit over simplified.

what is clever? was einstein clever to create the atom bomb?
atheists are just as stupid as some jihad raghead, both are
rooted in their beliefs - and anyone rooted in belief is
ignorant. next time you do something "good" ask yourself why
you did it. trust me, if you root around deeply enough
you'll find a reason why you did it for yourself - and
that's the only reason.

i don't need to "trust you". i studied psychology for 4
years and know this argument inside out. the definition of
intelligence and belief are irrelevant. You can bat post hoc
rationalities back and forth but i don't subscribe to your
limited perspective on motivation.

I'm sure with your 4 years of psychological studies you can
come up with a better counter argument than "you don't
subscribe to my limited perspective." Or maybe you're full
of dribble.

for what it's worth, i'm not having a go on you, i've been
reading your post with interest in the past but it seems
you're preaching the negative from some time now. one might
be selfish but it's not as bad attitude all the times, one
could also watch his ass or make fair trades with people
without feeling guilty of something. taking your words
seriously means not going out of home forever, i'm sure you
won't put people down on the internet for sport.

You can have a go at me if you like, I don't care.

My posts are negative? What is negative about the statement
that altruism does not exist? Why should people be
altruistic anyway? Other animals are not altruistic yet they
seem to get on with each other when they don't want to eat
each other.

Besides, if you look at my original post, I am asking the
question, not making a definitive statement.

You probably want to think altruism exists, you don't want
to examine yourself too deeply and realise that you
everything you do is for your own benefit. Don't blame me
for that, after all, I don't blame you do I?

Your mom asked to you do that??? What, wierd.

I trimmed mine with scissors (the hair, not the balls) for a
while to keep them looking sharp and clean, but it became a
hastle, and the pubs grew back at record speed anyways, so I
just said fuck it, let them use it as dental floss.
