there are two kinds of abstract...

one is a really well crafted artistic abstract... like the
cover of Draft 7.30, or even a *small* number of H.R. Giger
paintings

the other is what you've shown above, artwork that
practically anyone could execute.

There is a pretense surrounding the second category, people
who sort of pretend they "get it" and pay tens of thousands
of dollars for pieces like that, which is something I will
never understand.

"looks like something my 4-year-old son could do"
well have him do it and post pics

its also something similar to what my 2 year old can do,
and yeah its art, some are way better than others

its the simplicity of it all, not that i would pay more than
$100 for it

very nice cx.

and Falito: as long as you felt or expressed something while
creating that (i assume that you drew that?) then it is
worthy art. It's really just the hacks that slop some shit
on canvas and sell it for $30,000 that I was talkin' 'bout
earlier.

oh and as far as falitos images goes.. it reminds me of
mental illness, schizophrenia, depression, anger..

it looks to me like a person thats angry and frustrated, and
his mind is clouded.

the lines themselves are ok and the background is cool, its
a bit more concrete even tho it looks abstract..

abstract art is kind of like a rorschach test. i see an
angry face with lots of hair.

p.s i like the curves on your lines.

hr giger is not abstract. it's surrealism mostly.

there's also a genre called dilletantism.

Yeah, and remember that band with the HR Giger mic stand?
Now I genre I call 'totally rockin'!

When folks bring up that 4 year old kid, first millionaire
artist I always think of is Cy Twombly, and I often like Cy
Twombly. Cy Twombly. Like Cy Twombly.

Kids could never make that first drawing, their hands aren't
big enough.

How do you even know there are people pulling this shit off
for the money? Wouldn't even buy art for money.

Anyway, I'd take Paul Klee over Giger or the cover of Draft
7:30 (lol) any day.
