A friend wants to get a USB MIDI keyboard on a fairly low
budget.

What can you guys reccomend?

how many keys/octaves?
how many knobs/sliders?
how many bells/whistles?

I have evolution MK-249C (quite old now) but good. Powered
via USB or you can use a DC adapter, 4 octave, some pots
(not infinite rotaries though).
I think it's pretty decent.

i had the evolution mk 225C, and it was quite nice, gave it
to phresch when i bougth a korg microkontrol. i wanted
rotary encoders, but to be honest they arent all that good,
had to send it back for service cause they started
stuttering one by one. not cool

i too have a microkontrol, and apparantly twitchy encoders
is a common problem on them. its a shame because other than
that its a good bit of kit. i certainly wouldn't buy another
korg product again though. did you get a refund or
replacement, and if so do you still have problems?

i'm taking a look, it should be. and it seems something that
i could break quite easily. i think i'll wait for a
reasonable microkontrol offer on ebay.

Do not buy something with minikeys. You are going to hate
it.

I think you are thinking of penises. Both girls and
homosexuals seem to like them.
