Looking to improve. I would greatly appreciate anything
suggestions, positive or negative on this.

Thanks

this sounds and feels like it has been inspired by a
generation of midi computer game sound tracks. the
arrangement is good and obviously you know 'music' which is
more than can be said for most people here with their atonal
nonsense. the timbre doesnt exactly float my goat, and it
seems to noodle off a bit at the end.... some nice moments
in it though, bordering on epic. what i will say is use
something better than rapid share.

Ok, thanks for the feedback. Ok so, I never listened to the
rapid share link, I'm guessing it dampers the quality quite
a bit then.

The sounds of the instruments aren't to my liking a whole
lot either...I do like the orchestral stuff, but my samples
just don't sound great as is, I will do some tweaking.

What you say about the end makes sense as well. Thanks again
for the input, much appreciated.

peace.

this was pretty good... the harmonies seemed "off" to me the
first time I listened, but on the second go it clicked a lot
more.

nice crisp production as well... what software/hardware did
you use here?

I used reason for this, on my laptop, that well, is just
good enough to do what I want it do I guess. What you said
about the harmonies not clicking the first time through, and
then clicking later seems interesting to me.

Thanks for giving it a listen and feedback, much
appreciated. I will post the full version of the song at
some point after I upload it to my last.fm account.

The sounds are really kitchy, and i can't figure out if it's
intentional. Other than that, i actually really like it. As
noseburger said, it reminds you of old video game midi
soundtracks (Ultima underworld for example).

Well done!

Another thought, the low freq string (violin?) from 0:25 -
0:55 has a strange attack. I know it's probably supposed to
be tension building, followed by the "epic" part right
after, but it just ends up sounding weird. The epic part
will remain epic, even if you put a sharp attack, and longer
decay, release on the violin.

Very nitpicky.

Thanks again for the feedback. Ya..... the sounds really do
sound corny, this will be another one of those that sits on
my hd. I might change all the instruments to electronic
sounding ones and see if it sounds good at all.

That low freq. string is a cello in the background miming
the "riff" that is being played by other strings in a
higher register (at the beginning). I am very nit picky
also, how can you get better if you don't nit pick?

Peace.

Have you got a link to some more music? Your music actually
intrigues me.

Ya actually, I post some of my stuff here
http://www.last.fm/music/goatsniffer/x89

Hopefully you enjoy it. I go through my hd from time to time
and try to pick out stuff that I think is decent or at least
interesting, because by the time I get done with a piece, I
always hate it because I have heard it too many times. I
need ear rest.

Peace,

DirtyPriest
