cover

Most of my friends who've seen it seem to like it... but it
could use a more critical eye...

Does the whole thing just scream photoshop? I've been
thinking of losing the wizard's cap entirely..

to me, it does 'scream' photoshop yeah.. it does not have
really that standard professional type look thats common
nowadays on commercial cd's..

it looks more like an amateur 'funny' cover thats pretty
common in the electronic releases..
its all up to taste anyway, my personal opinion is it looks
good, the wiz hat has a cool glow and the fonts are okay
(but once again, they dont have that "pro" look, but thats
overrated anyway.

other than that it may look a bit disjointed, where the
elements dont really serve a function, like the hat..

How about the gnome could be taking a poop while eating a
sadwich, and maybe include an anteater.

the triangle logo thingy looks random and out of place. the
text also seems... sloppily placed. i'm no expert, but there
you go.

I misread the title, then I made a crappy sketch for
"Project Gnome". :0(

aalso, without the hat and the glow, the blue colour for the
font might be an odd choice.

need to work on the scale or something, the writing seems a
bit too small. not saying it has to be masssive, but i
barely noticed the name of the album was there.

You know, using a different color for the words could do
wonders. It kind of screams ms paint, the bright blue over
black. I might suggest something a little less vibrant, like
a dusty red or pastel teal. As well, reposition it in the
lower corner instead of the middle/upper side. Take out that
triangle.

Personally I don't like the gnome, but you could get by with
it if the lettering were done properly. Maybe change the
color scheme a bit, and do some smearing or smoothing of the
edges. Maybe taking it in a different direction and instead
of making it look like a poor photocopy (which seems to be
your intention) make it oversimplified and solid.

Seeing as CDs are redundant, album art has kind of become an
anachronism. If I ever get around to finishing something, I
will design pseudo-pagan symbols based on Cyrillic fonts for
each song.

thanks people, I'll re-tool and re-post eventually.

The wizard's cap is cut for sure, might redo the entire
lefthand side and brighten up the right side as well.

My advice: hire a designer

honestly, that looks a bit crap. I'd say go with brisk's
idea. Do not hire brisk tho.

You can make insane ass images with Cinema 4d. That's what I
would use for an album cover.

I wouldn't advise that. People might think he is using the
albums proceeds to hire prostitutes or something.
