I know a couple of fairly lovely, but not particularly thoughtful musicians who do believe this stuff, and only one of them believes in a capital G God. I suppose you could argue the others do if you really wanted to, sort of - they believe in the "Universe", but do not believe in it in a theistic or even a deistic sense. This whole thing is sort of pantheism for materialists dressed up in drag, really. And yeah, I know it's old (some singer recommended I read "The Secret" a year ago) but it's only recently I had the mispleasure of being forced to watched the DVD. |

"The Secret" was really a far out weird & crappy book - all too much of new age mumbo-jumbo... ..but - "The law of attraction" isn't just all greedy new age fluff used to fool people. Taken with a pinch of salt (and sometimes truckloads) there's some quite useful stuff in some of the books about the law/principle... Abraham & Hicks and Michael Losier has written books about it that's has a lot of interesting ideas in them, just ignore the parts that goes a bit over the top regarding what's possible and what it is who creates stuff that happens to you.... As you think, you become - and some positive thinking can actually change things for the better. |

It seems "The Secret" is nothing more than the "Power of Intention." They're the big guns every local station pulls out for pledge drives around here. That bald guy is a smug piece of shit.. and "The Secret"? The secret is knowing the secret we knew all along, it has something to do with patting yourself on the back. |
