I'm impressed by the amount of "tricks" you were able to
construct out of these sounds. Your sound design is as good
as ever and you're probably the best at it on this board.

The problem is- and it's the same problem with all of
Richard Devine's work and even tracks like ae's Fol4- I
really have to be in the right mood to want to listen to
semi rhythmic sound collages. You have to devote all your
mental resources to picturing the alien soundscape. Every
sound is assigned an immediate mental visual and you watch
them mutate in your head. Sometimes it hits the spot just
right, other times the concentration falters and you're just
listening to a bunch of spasming white noise in the
background.

It's different than raw ambience, which functions
essentially as a "mood" in the background. No concentration
is needed whatsoever to absorb the mood.

It's different than a sweet locked-in groove that just takes
over you, fires off all parts of your brain, makes you want
to get up and start break dancing in the middle of your
room.

So yeah, I think you're in bold territory with your latest
stuff-- you're quite good at it, but even from the first 30
seconds it might prove to be too much of a task to listen to
for most people to "get into". But even that doesn't matter
for shit, as long as you're enjoying what you're making.

thanks a lot dude!

i really enjoy making this stuff yeah.. im making an album
and im trying to make it more interesting.. more varying
sounds.. but we'll see..
i think maybe if the sounds are good enough, people will
attach to them even if they are "too" abstract in cases..
