This is a classic game, the follow ups they did to this did
not compare.

ya i agree. in fact, somewhere at ign.com, XCOM was #1 on
the top 25 PC games of all time.

Master of Orion is probably my favorite PC game of all
time.
I quite liked the sequel too - I was part of the minority
who enjoyed micromanaging. The Psilons and Klackons were my
favorites out of all the available races to play as;
Psilons because of their vast technological genius and the
Klackons because of their industrial superiority..
The Darlok race was fun to play as and see how far you could
develop your empire solely on stealing\sabotaging the goods
of your rivals and allies before being found out and getting
your homeplanet bombarded with the biological weapons of 28
fleets.

I always wanted to play X-COM but for some reason or another
I never had the chance. I think I may have played the demo
when I was a wee thing and been overwhelmed by the
complexity of it all.

i havent played it in almost 2 years and i want to again. i
beat it on the beginner level. i was afraid of the
complexity at 1st but once i got into it, i REALLY got into
it. there are all sorts of ways u can approach missions &
whatnot.

Hmmm..
I'll have to hunt a copy down.
Do you know if it was rereleased as part of a classic series
or anything like that?
