the problem with electro is it encompases three distinct styles of music: theres the electro, which was the precursor to hip-hop (the correct definition) theres the electro house shite and then theres another electro clash, which is more for the indie kids. basically, if you can't breakdance to it, then it isn't electro. cuntychuck sucks either way. |

Brisk is right, electro was originally a fusion of hip hop and electronic pop, now it means something entirely different as the genre spread to consume elements of techno and house music. So the term itself is very vague and cross cultural, what you call it in one country might mean something entirely different in another depending on their own perception and maybe even from individual to individual. At the end of the day, the consumer knows what to expect, some form of electronic dance music. |

For real electro you need these ingredients: -groovy beat not four on the floor -funky basslines -space pads -random FX and short synth lines in chains -TR606 or TR808 hh Also electronica gets on my nerves (*nica?), electronic music is the proper way to refer it. |
