Its so strange...

I was just talking to Wolfslice the other day how I've been
in one tornado my life.

Guess what just hit my town and neighboorhood?

I am thankful as FUCK right now that me, my family, and our
things are fine.

Houses in my neighboorhood are FUCKED up right now.

This is so strange.

I'm at a loss for words. For anything right now.

Dude, I'll check stuff out in the morning when its daylight.
Its only nearly 5 AM here. I haven't been outside yet, as
the weather is still nasty plus its too damn early and
dark.

Tomorrow, once I find out whats going on, I'll take some
pictures, yeah. I don't mind.

And like, I'm not seeking attention here or anything but
seriously SHIT JUST WENT DOWN. And I feel the natural need
to inform you all, my family at XLTRONIC.

From the news, I know that houses on my street are pretty
badly fucked up right now.

Why ours wasn't touched, I'll never know. I did see shingles
missing and around our yard when I looked our the window.

Its such an awkward feeling to know that I am fine, but
people a few hundred feet from me are not. And I can't do
much about it right now. :[

I'm going to try and get out tomorrow and lend a hand.

Its cool man. I just don't know what to think right now. My
only logical reaction is to talk about it, even here online,
with people I like to think I regularly associate with in
some way or another.

You know how it is. We share news.

Ughh, just such an array of mixed emotions right now.

I'm not all sure on how everyone else perceives it, but this
is how I am: Knowing that people care, whoever they are, is
something very personally important to me. I don't mean harm
by it.

this weekends episode of porn appreciation. testosterone
doesn't improve empathy pretty well.

does it make me bad person for feeling completely apathetic
about swift jam's situation? i hate to hear of people's
suffering and hope that no-one got hurt but the minute i
turn off the computer this ill cease to be part of my
reality. there's just too much shit on my care plate to
worry about some middle class americans who received damage
to their homes and may have received a few scratches
themselves.

Hell, dude. I don't give a shit about you. Or more so, I
don't feel the need to. I try and treat everyone as equals.

But like, when people need attention, and the way I feel, is
yes, people DO need attention, believe it or not, no matter
what kind it may be, I do MY best to make sure what is
needed is accomplished, and without any negativity
involved.

I don't get why people can't do the same for me.

Yeah, I'm on the FUCKING internet right now. I have nice
things. I was lucky enough to barely avoid a disaster a few
hours ago. You may think I'm always about myself and
everything. And sure, I have every right to be. My personal
benefit is number one priority on my list in life at all
times.

This doesn't mean I don't care about other things though. I
may not show it, or you just may not recognize it, but if I
feel that it is needed I will be just as caring about
anything as I would expect someone to be to me if I were in
their situation.

I don't think less of you or anything. I don't know you. You
don't really know me. But perhaps, if it occurs to you that
you might like to know, we can talk like we are now and get
a better understanding of each other. Yeah?

offline swift_jams from big sky on 2008-06-08 04:57 [#02214084]

People tend to think that I'm stupid and not very smart
about things. I make mistakes sometimes. We all do. Its not
a big deal, ultimately. Its only a big deal if you choose to
make it one.

But 99% of the time, I'm positive I know what I'm talking
about. I don't mind that people try and correct me if they
feel differently about it. No one wants to be wrong, right?

Criticism, if handled the right way, can be a good thing,
and should be a good thing. I love being given a helping
hand, if I feel that I need it. I'm sure most people feel
this way.

I dunno, man. I almost feel like I'm starting to babble now.
I just would like people to understand me a little better
than they think they already do. And I don't mind taking the
time to get to understand others, in turn.

I think it all works out nicely.

And now the sun is coming out just a little bit. 6:00 AM.
I'm staying indoors until my family re-awakens, then I'm
going to eat some breakfast, put on some clean clothes, then
head out to do what I feel is needed of me, in response to
the current happenings around me.

I really hope you guys read this and make some sense of it.

Dude, I hope everything is ok, you can get things cleaned up
and no one is hurt. If there is anything a fellow statie
can do let me know.

You just have to be pretty thick skinned to get on here,
especially as an american. There is so much anti-american
sentiment in the world right now that on an international
board like this you can just expect a level of
auto-pissiness directed toward us by default.

My thoughts and prayers are with the people around you...not
only do they have to contend with the aftermath of a tornado
but they have to put up with your melodramatic ass.

You should count the number of fucking "I"'s in your posts,
you fucking self centered cock. I mean eating breakfast and
putting on clean clothes is far more important than going
out and assisting people who have been left homeless.

Hopefully the next one will get you.

I have been within 2 miles of a tornado. It was fun to
watch. We only really get them off the coast and it is
extremely rare if they make land. They are never very
powerful either.

I'm sure some of us are just not sure what this bit has to
do with hurricanes or volcanoes or saving women and little
children. It's nothing to do with anti-American sentiment.

Oh I agree. We all talk nonsense from time to time.

Butttttt, no one died, I'm just saying it's strange to be in
the epicenter of a tornado, you know? Not everyday that it
happens. It wasn't a HUGE MASSIVE one or anything, but it
was enough to level a few houses.
