rite, well i downloaded two of your tunes fat kaimo, not
sure which ones which to be honest, but this is what i
thought from what i heard:

usva_clip.mp3 - kind of old aphex-ish beats from like
classics or something, haunting strings and a slow sort of
beat. i prefer things faster, but i spose it has potential
to be a nice chill out tune. its sort of all dubby and the
melody seems to get a bit too sharp at points and drown out
the beat a bit, which kind of gets on my nervous. but if the
beat was harder and the melody not so loud it would be kinda
sweet to listen to. i found it a difficult listen IMHO, but
a nice track nevertheless. just needs a bit of fine-tuning.
or maybe its me, and ive got it on too loud :s

tunteja_clip.mp3 - again, sort of dubby and the melody again
seems to be a bit too piercing for my liking. sounds a bit
similar to the one before, not really my cup of tea but i
can see people liking this one anyhow. nothing here really
groundbreaking, but what can i say? im the biggest v.snares
rip off around. i have a feeling this one is the better tune
out of the two, probably grow on me after a few listens.

anyways, i hope that was sort of constructive, u dont have
to take any notice on what i say anyway, youd be stupid to,
id probably ruin your music, hehe, keep on crankin dem tunes
dood ;)

my "Making Things Burn" review:

I like the haunting intro although I feel maybe it's a bit
long. The drums could benefit from compression. The
bass-sound needs a bit more presence in the mix. Overal I
like to whole mood of the track and I think you're on the
right track in making music. Good work.

Points: 215 Status: Lurker

cool, thanks man. im always open to a bit of constructive
critisism. the reason the intro is so long is cos its going
to be the first tune on a new ep im doing and i fancied
putting a long intro onto it. i put around 3 bass sounds
into it, but they dont seem to be pulling off much, ill
probably try and put another on just to make it stand out a
bit more.

once again, thanks for listening! is there anywhere i can
hear your stuff, if u make tunes that is?

I've made some tunes but I'm not completely satisfied with
them yet so I have not put them on the internet yet. But I'm
sure I'll upload something in the future.

no problem.

maybe you should try tunteja 2 (it's very different
from the first one), or lasia, or sat (which
seems to be everybody's favourite here)... oh well, every
song there is different.

thank you for your time

i just finished dl:ing your song, i'll comment in a sec...

well im just downloading sat, ill post some comments on that
when its done.

i also have a shitty connection, fucking 56k which takes
bloody ages, oh well, looking forward to getting broadband
in a few weeks :)_

yeah, 56k rules...

about your tune -
well, the song starts slowly but when the drums kick in it's
sounds good! after a short while the beat kinda feels
lost... you know, i can't get a hold of it. i like complex
beats but i can't figure this out, at least not yet. but
anyway, not bad!

(the network section)...

yeh no problem, althought i think u should add my website
(http://adikt.cjb.net) instead, there are links to the music
from there. it kind of acts as a diary/music site.

anyways, fat kaimo - sat -

Sounds a bit like the others, but this ones realy spacey and
i like the melodies yet again. what sort of software do you
use to create all the chime effects and stuff? theysound
pretty nice in this tune and its something id like to
incorperate into my stuff. the tunes nice in parts, can
sometimes can a bit dull though, as ive got the attention
span of a canary, and i like lots and LOTS of variations!
anyways, keep up the good work dude ;)

yeah, i know it's a pretty simple song...

the chime effects? i'm not sure what you mean, maybe the
echoes? i'm not telling what i used for that... :P
