My old Square nintendo kept flashing that pink and yellow
screen no matter what game I put in, so I went on ebay,
ordered a new 72 pin connector (they say that error is
caused by the original connectors which rust in air over
time).

Anyway, I took apart the whole system to the mother board,
replaced the connector, and put it back together.

No I'm playing the original Final Fantasy, I'm so proud of
myself. Fuck emulators!

Just thought I'd share that with you all.

I still have my old NES, but it'll never fucking work
again... I just have it for show. I love those emulators,
baby!

I can't get the games in without shoving something in with
them to hold them down, spring problems. And if I CAN get
the games in, I get that flashing screen that you had. And
in the SMALL chance I can get it working (not since two
years ago, Ninja Gaiden 3), the game will either pop out or
the fucking thing will just freeze! I got the poor guy in
'86, and I played it to death, I'm afraid. :-(

DO WHAT I DID

I've had my dusty NES sitting in a shelf, I've had it since
the 80's, moved three times. Now it works perfectly. You
have forgotten the satisfaction of playing the game with a
pointy square controller in your hand.

the only way to get my NES going is to take it apart and
hoover the inside out thouroughly, then put it back together
and it somehow always seems to work.... that was until my
bro swapped it for a teenth!

I'd have to fix the springs in it, too... actually, I should
really just buy my cousin's NES... I always envied him, his
always worked perfectly, mine was always an uncooperative
dickhead. I'm sure he'll give it to me, I'm a hardcore
gamer, but he's just casual, so I could probably get his.
I'll steal it if he refuses...

Even in the 80's I remember blowing into the games for an
hour to make them work!
