has anyone messed w/ one of these yet?

are the pads velocity sensitive or what man? no youtube
video, online review, or spec-sheet, not even the mother
fucking instruction manual which is online from akai's
website mentions if the pads are velocity sensitive, and it
is pissing me right off because i want one of those drum
machines really badly, unless the pads are not velocity
sensitive, thank you very much, i love you.

While it's never safe to assume, it would be overwhelmingly
stupid for pads to lack velocity sensitivity in 2008. I
would think Akai would be considerate/smart enough to
include sensitivity, but if the manual doesn't say one way
or the other, I suppose you should assume that it
doesn't have it.

If they are the same as their other pads they are velocity
sensitive. They didn't mention either way for those, so its
a safe assumption to think that this does have velocity
sensitive pads.

Don't buy something new you can't try unless its under 100.

never buy anything with fixed and non-exchangeable
presets/samples!

the pads aren't velocity sensitive. i tried one out today at
guitar center. what a joke. i guess if you just need the
bare minimum it's a good toy but jesus christ, what the
fuck? are you serious?

Well, it is a drum machine. Vast majority of them don't have
velocity sensitive pads.

It just doesn't really work for your needs. In all honesty,
90% of the time I am doing something in my mpc I have the
pad sensitivity set to 100% so that they aren't velocity
sensitive either.
