yea, stuff like that seems to happen, information seems to
be more evenly distributed across the body than we supposed,
or even kind of non-corporeal, like a ghost-in-the-machine
type of situation...

or then this guy just learned about the circumstances of his
donor's death and became obsessed by it and, ironically
enough, did his best to make it happen in exactly the same
way.

either way, interesting

or there's such a thing as co-incidence

especially in a place like that where there's ready access
to guns and plenty of reasons to want to kill yourself

I calculated the odds of this happening and they are a
gazillion to 1/5 of -1.

That's really quite odd.... but it was by using a gun and
shooting yourself, not some more obscure method.

I wouldn't cite is as any kind of evidence in Cellular
memory, just a series of events which, by themselves, are
not outrageously unlikely. As Aengus said, suicide by
shotgun isn't that uncommon in America.

Scientists say there are more than 70 documented cases of
transplant patients having personality changes as they take
on some of the characteristics of the donor.

Last month, a woman from Lancashire claimed her literary
tastes changed radically following a kidney transplant.

Cheryl Johnson used to enjoy celebrity biographies and best
sellers such as The Da Vinci Code.

But now she prefers classics such as Jane Austen's
Persuasion and Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment.

:D ?

What everyone is missing is that both men were married to
the same woman. It is nothing to do with the heart, she
obviously drove them to it. It isn't even coincidence.

There's also a third option. She may be neither ugly nor
depressing. Perhaps she's brilliant, calculating, and
manipulative, and gets her kicks from convincing her
husbands to commit suicide.

My Mum buys the Daily Mail - I don't know why and I've asked
her... she doesn't vote Tory and she's Liberal inclined...
very odd.

yea, but like i said and others too, it's much more likely a
result of having to deal with the same woman and the same
stories... this guy had some obsession in the first place to
start dating this woman - or then she was just good looking
and the obsession developed later. at any case, it's like a
mass suicide, committed by the Association of Her Husbands.

Is it too late to have the heart implanted myself, or even a
date with the widow, that I might have the strength to shoot
myself in the fucking neck rather than put up with this
fucking charade day in day out (good song by Bowie there)?

"Scientists say there are more than 70 documented cases of
transplant patients having personality changes as they take
on some of the characteristics of the donor."

The heart pumps blood around the body, it doesn't carry
genetic information, which it would have to at the very
least to make such behavioural parallels even a remote
possibility.

Of course people's personalities are likely to change after
a heart operation. The operation itself must be physically
and emotionally daunting in the extreme.
