if anyone is interested and doesn't know, this band has reformed and is touring for the first time in 10 years.
if you don't know them, they play an explosive, psychedelic brand of shoegazery rock. back in the day they were too heavy and hard for the shoegazers and not metal enough for the metal/hard rock types. they crop up on a lot of "criminally underrated" lists.
but they're great and if you like the rock musics you should check them out. currently swerving across the united states.

I liked, what was it, and I'm not Googling, Son of Mustang Ford? I liked that single but not much else, one of my best friends (and yes, even in the early 90s I rated my friends much like "the kids" do on MySpace today) had the album and even a "long-sleeved" t-shirt, as was the fashion.
Something something mustang ford... take me far away. I might have to illegally download that song.... now.

cool. of course they will drive through my town like 95% of bands...
I'd start at the beginning with Raise. I've only heard their first 2 but they are both good.

their first album is "raise," and it's imho probably their best and most consistent (a lot of people disagree with me). i recommend starting there.
yes, "son of mustang ford" is one of their best tunes. like a lot of the tunes on "raise" it has the feeling that it's being played in a car that's on the verge of spinning out of control.
later, they slowed down and emphasized a lot more of the guitar textures, i think the track "99th dream" from 1998 is a good example.
they're probably more popular today than they were when they were actively recording, they've built up quite a cult following in the last ten years.

"raise" and "mezcal head" have been remastered and are back in print with a few bonus tracks.
if you've never heard them, i guess i'd say they sound similar to dinosaur jr but with more detail and better tunes.
they get thrown into the shoegaze bin, which is reasonable, but they're much more aggressive and heavy and "musicianly" than most bands in that bin. imho they deserve similar accolades to my bloody valentine.
anyway, that's my plug for this great band.
