8 track double CD (seems like there are more short
interludes on this one), gatefold digipak
75% is entirely new music created post-Campfire Headphase,
the rest is older tracks and ideas worked up to the
brother's high standards.
There will be exclusive Bleep.com tracks available to those
who preorder the album and those who purchase the digital
version. No word on if these are remixes or original
tracks.
There will be a 'deluxe' version, vinyl only, limited to
1060 copies (you see what they did there?), which will
contain 'neat stuff' (all I was told, details to come)
The album will be released in the second half of the year,
'before the leaves turn colours' (could this be the title of
the album?)

The first track off the album is called 'Isolated Receiver'
and will be a single release as well before the album's
release. It's supposedly "their best track they feel they've
done yet"(!)

Exclusive to WATMM, here's some factoids about the new
album:

28 track double CD (seems like there are more short
interludes on this one), gatefold digipak

The other big bit of news is that this is not the only
Boards release this year - but nothing to announce at the
moment.

why would boc tell watmm first over warp or their own site?
it would be nice if it was true, but only a fool would
believe any big announcement on april fools day.

Fake, AE would never top BOC but AFX tops BOC.

it's not that everyone thinks it's april fool, it's that no
one is interested in what boc do anymore.

was officially mentioned, so scrap my previous comment on
that. i still don't believe it's true though.

More info:

The new Boards of Canada album is a return to their
"minimalist synth-dominated, experimental" roots. Marcus,
one half of BOC says "We've learned a lot over the years,
but we regularly listen to our archives and still appreciate
our older, somewhat naive work. We're aiming for a return to
this sound, but produced in a way which also compliments our
new sound".

APRIL FOOLS FUCKERS. They're gonna make another guitar hippy
friendly wankfest and you know it!

well, there was an april fools topic on watmm about richard
d james dying in a car crash. that didn't last long before
it was deleted.
on the flipside, news of new boc album has reached 3rd page
now, and was started by joyrex himself.

bad taste. bad taste.

for something official from warpbot.

UPDATE: Obviously, this being April 1st, is an April Fool's
Gag. Cheers to those who can 'take a joke' and for those who
can't... perhaps re-examine what really matters in life.

LOL

PAYING THE BILLS AND MY DOG ANNA.
WHAT DOESNT MATTER IN LIFE - NEW BOC ALBUM.

I wonder if Joyrex realises the point of April Fools is to
make OTHER PEOPLE look foolish?

I wonder if joyrex realises that the point of joking, in
general, is to actually be funny.

lamest/least funny april fools I've ever seen. I don't even
care about a new BoC release. This just isn't funny. The
same way that, say, Garfield isn't funny.
