Ok. so what am I missing here? I just dont see what is so wonderfull about LFO.
I love Flushot from wipeout. Freak is ok. real energetic tracks..
I'm just not feeling any energy or life or anything interesting in their sound outside of these tracks and perhaps Butterslut.
any reccomendations for another listen before I close my books on them?

LFO, the first album, is very much I think an album of its time. If you didn't hear it and love it then, you aren't going to like it now. I still say Advance holds up now though. In fact, I think I'm going to put it on.

LFO, LFO, where to start or, possibly in your case, end, with LFO?
The three-piece from Leeds in Sheffield were the pioneering trio behind the sound that was to come to be known as Beat House. Their use of subsonic bleeps and very high treble led to then popular Radio 1 DJ Dave Lee Travis describing their debut single "FLO" as "bloody awful", a comment completely out of step with puplic opinion which sent the track to the top of the charts for the whole of the 90s. Follow up "We Are Back (but we'll shortly be off for 5 years)" served only to prove that these four plucky lads from Detroit in Belgium were here to stay. The quintet were also the first Techno act to be able to provide a solid album in addition to chart busting singles. Apart from Kraftwerk.
Twenty years in the making, follow up album "Autechre" moved away from the dancefloor and into your bedroom as the eight man band were deeply influenced by IDM. Which meant some tracks were techno-y and others a bit more Ambient.
A further decade passed before "Sheak" was released, with LFO now being reduced to just 12 of the original 36 members. This reduction in manpower was also reflected in the more minimalist , brutal sound of the album. Also along the way the various members of the band produced and remixed a variety of artists, perhaps most famously Björn from ABBA.
My recommendations would be "What time is Love?" and the album "Chill Out".

it's just up until squeaky/mashed potato 12", i think that was warp 17, not so much after that, the first ep and remix b-sides, we are back, nurture, never really listened to the album much, strangely, maybe it's not quite as good, will have to go and have another listen, warp did a ltd cd single actually of live in paris, quite a rare one
wonder if they have any old unreleased tracks? warp should put all this new/old guitar music on their old label Gift and dig out the LFO dats and help revitalize warp and electronic/black/dance music for the good of society.
warp was so classic up till about #20. that very first nightmares on wax album - shizzle my nizzle. Rob Gordon, where are you, come back all is forgiven, we're sorry...

I've added Mummy I've had an Accident, Loop, and Mentok1 to my list of good LFO tracks.
I actually like some of the LFO sound.
I'd like to hear them work with 2562 or Various Production not that they are in league.
